Airflow Panels & Controls

We offer a range of airflow panels and control devices to deliver the right amount of air directly to the equipment. By using the right combination of airflow panels and controls bypass air can be nearly eliminated.

DirectAire

DirectAire® uses patent-pending technology to angle the air toward the equipment. This means the airflow delivered through the airflow panel is entering the face of the server rack, providing the highest cooling capacity and energy efficiency of any airflow panel on the market. DirectAire® has a 68% open area and a strong durable design that provides superior load performance. DirectAire® is designed for one-to-one paring with a standard 42U rack.

DirectPerf 32

DirectPerf 32% angles the airflow toward the server rack to significantly improve energy efficiency and reduce bypass air. DirectPerf 32% provides nearly the same cooling capacity as a standard 56% open area grate, using about half the airflow. The panel is designed with a unique combination of directional and vertical perforations, which provide evenly distributed air flow across the entire face of a typical IT rack.

HD GrateAire

The high strength, low weight, all-aluminum construction is designed for use in new and existing data centre applications with ConCore or All Steel Bolted Stringer systems. Available with or without a damper, it can be adjusted from the top to balance the airflow based on the specific load in the aisle. With the same airflow performance as the standard GrateAire panel, the HD GrateAire offers high-density cooling and load performance in an affordable airflow panel.

PowerAire Quad

The PowerAire® Quad fan assist module is equipped with 4 fans connected in parallel to provide built-in redundancy. This unit is only 4” deep making it ideal for retrofit situations with finished floor heights as low as 7.5”. Multiple control options are available to automatically turn on the fan when conditions require additional cooling.

DirectAire AL

The DirectAire® AL is an all-aluminum, lightweight directional airflow panel that uses patent-pending technology to angle the air toward the equipment. This means that the airflow delivered through the airflow panel is entering the face of the server rack, providing increased cooling capacity and energy efficiency.

Dual-Zone Opposed Blade Damper

Tate’s Dual-Zone Opposed Blade Damper is designed for use with the DirectAire X2 in single width airflow panel aisles. The dual zone damper allows the user to control the airflow through each half of a panel independently so that racks on opposite sides of the aisle can receive the right amount of cooling for the load in the rack.

Multi-Zone Opposed Blade Damper

The Multi-Zone Opposed Blade Damper allows for delivery of air only to where load is present, and confining airflow to where there is none. The reduction in airflow volume as a result of closing off airflow to unused sections of racks reduces energy expenditure at the CRAC unit level.

Single-Zone Opposed Blade Damper

Easy access through the panel's surface allows for quick adjustment of the damper for accurate airflow balancing for IT hardware with fixed airflow requirements. The damper’s drop-in design allows for easy installation by decoupling the damper from the panel. This means that standard, undampered directional airflow panels can be ordered as needed, with separate opposed blade dampers purchased as necessary.

DirectAire X2

DirectAire X2 is specifically designed for use in cold aisles that are only one airflow panel wide. The panel's angular throw evenly distributes the majority of the air it delivers directly to the face of the two opposite-facing racks, providing virtual containment when used in conjunction with the other airflow management best practices.

GrateAire

Available with or without a damper, it can be adjusted from the top to restrict airflow by up to 100%. With the ability to perform the same amount of cooling as three perforated panels without comparable cost, GrateAire is an affordable and cost-effective airflow panel, ideal for use in contained aisles.

Perforated Panels

The damper can be adjusted from the top and locked into place to avoid tampering. Tate's perforated panel delivers airflow in a vertical plume and is a cost-effective airflow panel for use in contained aisles. Steel perforated panels are available with a SparkLite white powder coating or laminated with high pressure laminate, vinyl or rubber floor coverings. The perforated panels are interchangeable with laminated ConCore and All Steel panels in a stringered system.

Slide Damper

Tate’s slide damper can be factory attached to standard perforated panels for manual airflow adjustments. The slide damper is mechanically attached to the panel to provide airflow control. The design of the damper means it will fit into most existing data centres, or new build applications.
